Pelican Rapids Mayor Brent Frazier stands with Viking Elementary students Eliza Bakken (center) and Sofia Rodriguez (right), the top two local winners of the League of Minnesota Cities β€œMayor for a Day” essay contest. Both students focused their winning essays on economic development, with Bakken writing about revitalizing empty downtown buildings and Rodriguez proposing a community bakery.
